BAC INTRODUCES MONO CUP CAR

Briggs Automotive Company (BAC) today unveils the Mono CUP, the most extreme, track-focused single-seater supercar from BAC to date, engineered to deliver unparalleled performance for the dedicated track enthusiast. The Mono CUP is a testament to BAC's philosophy that driving is a pure sport, providing an ultimate tool for those who embrace the circuit as their playground.

Building directly on the advancements of the Model Year 2025 Mono, the Mono CUP car pushes boundaries further, stripping back for pure performance and integrating advanced motorsport technologies, positioning it as the ultimate expression of driving as a sporting pursuit.

The Philosophy of Driving as a Sport

In an era where cars for transport are increasingly automated, the Mono CUP doubles down on BAC's mission to create machines that celebrate driver involvement. It’s designed for the serious track user – individuals for whom driving is a cherished leisure activity and a high-performance sport. If the standard Mono is the ultimate road and track experience, the Mono CUP is its uncompromising evolution for the circuit, offering a visceral and rewarding connection to the tarmac.

Ultimate Lightweighting & Power: Redefining Performance

The Mono CUP achieves extraordinary performance gains through an obsessive focus on lightweighting:

Radical Weight Reduction: Weighing in at an astonishing 540kg (dry), the Mono CUP is a remarkable 40kg lighter than the MY25 Mono. This reduction is achieved through the strategic removal of elements necessary only for road registration, and the incorporation of an FIA-conforming bag fuel tank which further reduces mass and enhances safety.

Revolutionary Carbon Fibre Wheels: A cornerstone of the Mono CUP’s lightweighting is its new super-lightweight all-carbon fibre disc wheels with centre-fix hubs. Weighing just 3.9kg (front) and 4.1kg (rear), this significantly reduced rotating mass dramatically improves both acceleration and braking, while the lighter unsprung weight further enhances handling and grip.

Elevated Power: The naturally-aspirated 2.5-litre, four-cylinder engine is re-tuned to produce an exhilarating 335bhp and 330Nm of torque.

Unrivalled Power-to-Weight: The combination of extreme lightweighting and increased power results in a staggering 620bhp-per-tonne power-to-weight ratio. This translates directly into significantly quicker lap times – even surpassing the acclaimed Mono R – alongside improved acceleration.

Track-Optimised Exhaust: A new Cup-specific, lighter stainless-steel race exhaust system further contributes to weight reduction and delivers an even more aggressive soundtrack.

Motorsport Dynamics & Uncompromising Safety

Every aspect of the Mono CUP's dynamic setup is engineered for track dominance and driver confidence:

Motorsport ABS System with Carbon Ceramic Enhancement: At the heart of the Mono CUP’s extreme braking prowess is the BAC-developed adaptive Motorsport ABS system. This cutting-edge technology provides unparalleled stopping power and control, precisely tunable across the Mono CUP’s drive modes to prioritise ultimate stopping distance on track. Seamlessly integrated with this system are high-performance 295mm carbon ceramic brake discs, a major upgrade from the standard Mono. Beyond their exceptional fade resistance and significantly increased braking force, the carbon ceramic material crucially results in lower rotating and unsprung mass. This reduction directly contributes to improved acceleration, even quicker braking responses, and significantly enhanced handling, mirroring the profound benefits delivered by the new carbon wheels.

Four-Way Adjustable Öhlins Dampers with New Rates: For unparalleled chassis control and fine-tuning, the Mono CUP is equipped with Öhlins four-way adjustable damper assemblies, featuring new spring and damper rates. This allows precise adjustments to high and low-speed bump and rebound, catering to specific track conditions and driver preferences.

Optimised Suspension Geometry: The suspension setup features optimised front suspension geometry with increased anti-dive, complemented by ultra-light billet aluminium uprights with centre-fix and revised geometry to precisely manage forces under extreme braking and cornering.

International Motorsport Homologation & Safety: The Mono CUP is homologated for international motorsport, designed to meet rigorous competition standards. This comprehensive safety package includes an FIA-conforming ATL bag tank, external electrical and fire suppression controls, and a fully integrated fire extinguisher system for both cockpit and engine bay, ensuring the highest standards of track safety.

Track-Optimised Gearing: The six-speed sequential Hewland FTR gearbox features revised gearing specifically optimised for track use, which can also be tailored for any specific circuit.

Enhanced Cooling: A Cup-specific high-endurance oil cooler ensures optimal engine temperatures during sustained, high-intensity track sessions in all climates.

Integrated Data & Coaching for Driver Development

The Mono CUP car enhances the driver experience with sophisticated on-board data systems:

Integrated BAC Data Logger with HD Camera: Beyond the driver interface shared with the MY25 Mono, the Mono CUP features an integrated BAC data logger with a HD camera. This system provides drivers with comprehensive video and data log playback and analytic tools, empowering them to dissect and optimise their driving style. The same display from the MY25 Mono is integrated into the steering wheel, offering a familiar yet enhanced interface.

Live Broadcast Capability: A revolutionary feature allows for live broadcast of video and data feeds to the garage. This enables instructors to gain real-time, in-depth insights into a driver's performance – seeing not only the video but also precise data like never before. This level of real-time knowledge and accuracy is simply not available by sitting in the car next to the driver, making quicker and more accurate feedback (via Radio) possible during the session.

Track Purity with Road Flexibility

While primarily designed for the circuit, the Mono CUP offers flexibility with an optional road registration kit. In its standard guise, the Mono CUP prioritises ultimate lightweighting and track performance, meaning it is not road legal. However, the available kit allows owners to adapt their Mono CUP for road use, offering a unique blend of track purity and on-road presence. It is important to note that purchasing the Mono CUP car does not grant entry into the Mono CUP race series, which remains an exclusive 'arrive-and-drive' championship. However, it provides an invaluable opportunity for competitors to practice in an identical vehicle to the series' race cars.

Neill Briggs, Co-Founder and Director of Product Development at BAC, said: “The Mono CUP car represents BAC’s unwavering commitment to the ultimate track driving experience. We’ve meticulously engineered every component – from the 40kg weight reduction to the carbon ceramic brakes and four-way adjustable Öhlins dampers with their new rates – to deliver uncompromised performance and a raw, visceral connection to the circuit. This is a car for those who truly live to drive on the edge, a pure expression of motorsport technology made accessible for the enthusiast.”

Ian Briggs, Co-Founder and Design Director at BAC, added: “With the Mono CUP, we've distilled the essence of a single-seater into a car that is both incredibly capable and uniquely empowering for the driver. Its design is a direct reflection of its purpose: absolute performance, unburdened by compromise. Coupled with advanced data logging and live coaching capabilities, the Mono CUP is more than just a car; it's a comprehensive tool for driver development, fostering a deeper understanding and passion for the sport of driving.”
