Briggs Automotive Company wins prestigious International Trade Award

BAC wins prestigious International Trade Award at the 2022 Northern Automotive Alliance (NAA) Awards.

The Northern Automotive Alliance launched in 2004 and is an independent, not-for-profit organisation with 90 member companies from across the North of England. The vision of the NAA is to develop the North’s rich automotive heritage and provide tailored support to member companies.

The 2022 NAA Awards judging panel were impressed by BACs level of focus on potential markets and its customers, backed up by a clear future sales projection plan.

Export plays a vital role in BAC’s continued success and every year the Liverpool-based manufacturer takes the Mono supercar to new markets, resulting in a current tally of 46 territories to date with a target of 50 before the end of 2022, and no less than 60 in 2023. As much as 85% of Mono production is already exported around the world.

BAC monitors global enthusiast markets, backed up with professional industry surveys, and in-territory market research, to seek out dealer opportunities in established areas, as well as forging a path into new territories such as Indonesia. BAC has developed and expanded its product offering to address barriers to entry, particularly in Europe, which has opened a further 24 potential export countries, several of which sit in the Top 10 global supercar sales territories.

The soon-to-launch Mono F (forced induction) supercar addresses specific legislative barriers to entry, namely tailpipe and sound emissions, allowing for swift local registration in mainland Europe, including Germany, the world’s second largest supercar market. Mono F also satisfies a global demand for a legislation-friendly Mono, allowing for increased sales to both new and existing markets.

Mono is already sold in 12 American states, making the US a significant market for BAC due to the size of the opportunity and the fact the US is the leading global market for supercars. Celebrity also plays a part, and the recent Mono purchase by Kanye West provided money-can’t-buy press exposure and took BAC to a brand-new audience demographic.

The recently announced e-Mono creates yet another new market opportunity. Using hydrogen fuel cell technology, it allows for zero-emissions and usable range, whilst remaining relatively lightweight.

BAC co-founder and Director of Product Development Neill Briggs said: “We are delighted to receive this latest award from the experts at the Northern Automotive Alliance. Mono is no stranger to winning awards, but we are especially proud to be regularly recognised for our business strengths, too. BAC is reliant on export, with 10 years in business, and 150 cars delivered, we work hard to protect existing business whilst also launching into new markets.

Like Mono, BAC is agile and effective. 7 or 8 years ago we were a British brand selling to a largely British audience, now we are a global brand with 10-years of success behind us and enjoying 85% export sales. Mono F will further strengthen our global presence and will allow us to sell the Mono supercar throughout mainland Europe resulting in a total of 60 global BAC sales territory markets by the end of 2023”.
