MONO MODEL YEAR 2025 RELEASED

Briggs Automotive Company (BAC) introduces the Model Year 2025 BAC Mono, an evolution of its acclaimed single-seater supercar. This latest iteration, now in production, integrates advanced technologies and dynamic refinements, further enhancing the Mono’s renowned purity of driving experience and its position as the ultimate, road-legal, high-performance machine.

Building on 15 years of pioneering engineering, the new Mono arrives with a suite of enhancements designed to elevate performance, safety, and driver connection.

Design

The Model Year 2025 BAC Mono maintains its iconic single-seater silhouette, a testament to BAC's enduring design philosophy that prioritises form-follows-function aesthetics. The MY25 Mono showcases a refined, aggressive, and planted visual presence. Every surface has been meticulously sculpted, continuing the striking design DNA first seen with Mono R. The design ethos focuses on visual lightness and a cleaner, more simplistic aesthetic, epitomised by the imposing shark nose and centrally mounted headlights. Body panels continue to use graphene-enhanced carbon fibre, leveraging a material debuted in the Mono R to enhance structural integrity, strength, lightness, and both mechanical and thermal performance.

Power

At the core of the new Mono is its naturally-aspirated 2.5-litre, four-cylinder engine, meticulously refined to deliver an exhilarating 315bhp and 313Nm of torque. This increase in power, coupled with a remarkable dry weight of just 580kg, results in an astounding power-to-weight ratio of 543bhp-per-tonne. The BAC-developed dry sump system and aero-optimised carbon airbox ensure optimal performance and a lower centre of gravity, while the bespoke coated stainless-steel exhaust with its centrally mounted tailpipe continues to deliver a visceral symphony of raw power.

Innovation & Technology: Adaptive Control for Unrivalled Engagement

The Model Year 2025 Mono integrates a wealth of new technologies, setting new benchmarks for driver involvement and safety in its class:

  • Adaptive Motorsport ABS System: A significant leap forward in active safety and performance, the new BAC-developed, adaptive anti-lock braking system provides unparalleled stopping power and control. Unlike conventional road ABS which prioritises stability, BAC's motorsport-derived ABS is tuned for optimal performance. This intelligent system is highly tunable across the Mono's driving modes to transition from a stability-biased setting for road/wet conditions to maximum stopping distance on track.

  • Active Yaw Control (AYC) with Selectable Drive Modes: Introducing an unprecedented level of dynamic adaptability, the MY25 Mono features BAC-developed Active Yaw Control (AYC) seamlessly integrated with multiple drive modes, now selected via the new driver interface:

  • Road/Wet: Calibrated for enhanced stability and predictability, providing a safer and more confident experience. Here, both AYC and Traction Control (TC) are most active, and ABS is biased towards stability.

  • Sport: Delivers heightened vehicle characteristics and a more engaging experience for spirited road driving and initial track exploration. AYC and TC intervention are reduced compared to Road/Wet, and ABS balances stability with stopping distance.

  • Track: Unleashes maximum performance, significantly reducing intervention from dynamic systems for the most direct and uncompromised circuit driving. AYC and TC are at their least sensitive, and ABS primarily prioritises the shortest stopping distance.

  • AYC Off: For the ultimate purist, this mode disables both Active Yaw Control (AYC) and Traction Control (TC) functions, offering maximum driver involvement and ultimate control, demanding the highest level of skill and precision. It is important to note that the adaptive ABS system remains active even in 'Off' mode, continuing to provide critical braking safety.

These modes allow drivers to precisely tailor the Mono’s dynamic behaviour to their environment and skill level, offering an adaptive and supremely engaging driving experience.

  • Enhanced Front Suspension Geometry: The front suspension now incorporates more anti-dive and modified geometry, further optimising performance by reducing pitch under braking and enhancing dynamic stability.

  • Öhlins Two-Way Adjustable Dampers: The new Mono features Öhlins two-way adjustable damper assemblies, providing superior control over suspension behaviour and allowing for precise tuning to suit diverse driving styles and track conditions.

  • Bespoke Pirelli Trofeo R Mono 2 Tyres: The Mono continues to ride on its lightweight alloy wheels, now paired with new, bespoke Pirelli Trofeo R Mono 2 tyres. These tyres represent a significant development of the original Pirelli-developed Mono tyre, specifically engineered in close collaboration with Pirelli to optimise grip, feedback, and overall vehicle dynamics exclusively for the Mono.

Interior & Driver Experience

The driver-focused cockpit of the MY25 Mono is further refined for a truly symbiotic connection between man and machine. The Mono’s carbon fibre steering wheel integrates a new driver interface that revolutionises interaction. This interface is central to drive mode selection and, with the optional VBox system, provides critical performance data including lap times, delta time, and delta velocity, empowering the driver with real-time feedback. The interior materials, including waterproof leather and Niroxx micro-fibre, are now available in many new colours, significantly enhancing the amount of bespoke customisation possible.

Ultimate Driving Experience

Every enhancement in the Model Year 2025 Mono culminates in an ultimate driving experience that is more precise, safer, and exhilarating than ever before. The combination of increased power, maintained lightweight integrity, and the sophisticated new adaptive ABS and intelligent AYC system with its versatile drive modes, means the new Mono offers unparalleled agility, braking performance, and cornering precision. These advancements underscore BAC's commitment to delivering the purest, most adaptable, and intensely rewarding driving experience imaginable, whether on road or track.

Neill Briggs, Co-Founder and Director of Product Development at BAC, added: “With the MY25 Mono, we have engineered an unprecedented level of dynamic adaptability without compromising the visceral thrill BAC is renowned for. The introduction of our motorsport-derived adaptive ABS system, combined with the intelligent Active Yaw Control and its precisely calibrated drive modes, allows drivers to explore the Mono’s extraordinary capabilities with greater confidence and control across any environment, truly pushing the boundaries of performance and driver control. This car is a testament to our relentless pursuit of an unrivaled, adaptable driving experience.”

Ian Briggs, Co-Founder and Design Director at BAC, said: “The Model Year 2025 Mono represents the pinnacle of our design philosophy, where every aesthetic choice directly enhances function and driver engagement. From the intuitive new driver interface, which brings critical performance data and dynamic control right to the fingertips, to the expanded range of interior customisation options, we’ve meticulously crafted a cockpit and an overall design that is both beautiful and utterly focused on the purest connection between driver and car. The attention to detail in every element ensures an unparalleled bespoke experience.”
