MONO R AT THE NÜRBURGRING: COMPETITIVE PERFORMANCE TESTING HAS BAC EYEING PRODUCTION CAR LAP RECORD

BAC has returned from successful performance testing at the Nürburgring, Germany, having pushed the Mono R supercar to its limits at one of the most iconic circuits in the world.

The Nordschleife is famed for being the ultimate track test for car manufacturers across the globe, with brands taking on the 13-mile course looking to hit the top of the coveted leaderboards in a number of categories.

For BAC, the target is pushing towards the summit of the production car lap record charts, currently topped by the Porsche GT2 RS equipped with a Manthey Performance Kit. And although Porsche’s record is an impressive one, recent testing on the Nürburgring gave the Liverpool-based company plenty of cause for encouragement…

The BAC team was on hand in Germany during industry pool days with tyre partner Pirelli, as British racing driver Adam Christodoulou put the 343bhp R through its paces against the clock. Such was its outstanding performance that BAC is now planning a return to the circuit in summer 2022.

Neill Briggs, BAC Co-Founder and Director of Product Development, said: “Mono R is no stranger to production car lap records and we’re determined to push as hard as we can for it to take the ultimate accolade at the Nordschleife. It’s been a dream of ours to break the record of all records and in Mono R we have a remarkable supercar capable of doing it. The results we achieved in Germany were incredibly encouraging and competitive indeed – so much so that we’ll be back for an official record attempt next summer.”
