BAC MONO OWNER SETS NEW ANNEAU DU RHIN 3.7KM PRODUCTION CAR LAP RECORD AS PART OF MONO OWNERS’ CLUB BLACK FOREST TOUR 2020

A BAC Mono owner has set the new unofficial production car lap record at the 3.7km Anneau du Rhin circuit in North-East France.

As part of the spectacular Mono Owners’ Club Black Forest event – in which seven Mono owners toured the finest roads across southern Germany and France – Paul Sweeney produced a stunning drive to set a new best at the 3.7km circuit.

Sweeney clocked an impressive 1:35.777 to outgun the likes of the Porsche GT3 RS and add yet another performance honour to BAC’s ever-growing list of achievements.

BAC is no stranger to production car lap records, with more than 10 under its belt worldwide, but the Anneau du Rhin accomplishment is extra special with a Mono owner behind the wheel.

The world’s first single-seater, road-legal supercar is known for its unbeatable, unrivalled ability on the road and track, but this latest record perfectly demonstrates just how accessible that phenomenal level of performance truly is.

Neill Briggs, Co-Founder of BAC, commented: “What a fantastic achievement for Paul and certainly for the Mono Owners’ Club! The Club tours the best driving roads in the world and takes in some stunning tracks to boot – and thanks to Mono’s performance and accessibility, this could well be the first of many lap records broken by the owners.”

Note: Anneau du Rhin do not officially record and document lap times on the 3.7km circuit. The BAC Mono lap time is unofficially the fastest lap recorded by a production car.
